Fencing
Fencing has taught me never to give up. I’ve been fencing for about a year and a half, a bit later than many of my peers so I have had to work extra hard to catch up. Through fencing, I have learned better spatial awareness and body control, mental strategy, and it has drawn out some of my competitiveness.
I have also gained more of a growth mindset. When I started as a beginner, I made many mistakes along the way. These days, I am much more comfortable with making mistakes because it’s all part of the learning process. I practice fencing four times a week and I can see the steady improvements since I first started. Even though fencing is an individual sport, I love being part of my club team and the fencing community.
